on pages 3 and 72-73. The section is on actresses about to break
out into the spotlight. Text is as follows:
Age:

The
Lowdown:
At 16 Mazur made her debut as "Flirting Woman," a temptress
who comes on to Raul Julian in 1993's Addams Family Values.
Since then, the Malibu-bred former model has been in a hot-young-thing
holding pattern, with brief appearances in The Mod Squad
and the first Austin Powers installment, and supporting roles
in Blow, Angel Eyes, and 40 Days and 40 Nights.
This year, she displayed solid comedy chops as Brittany Murphy's
snooty older sister in Just Married, then shifted gears from
bourgeois brat to biker babe in Torque. Next, she cools her
engines with the tender indie drama Whirly Girl.
The
Endorsement:
"For Torque, I saw hundreds of girls," says director
Joseph Kahn. "I went with Monet because she just killed it
in the audition. She has a certain spark and magic to her. I think
she's a natural entertainer. Even in the way that she talks, or
makes eye contact with you, she's entertaining you."
The
Trenchant Insight:
"It's hard to look at things from where you are and say, 'Look
how great I've done, ' because I'm such a perfectionist, and think
I can always do better. I really can't see the top of the hill because
as far as I'm concerned, if I don't get there until I'm 80, that's
fine. I have my whole life to work on it."
The
Gripe:
"Every day [on Torque] I was in head-to-toe leather,
and of course my costume was three sizes too small, so it looked
like I was spilling out of it."
The
Little-Know Factoid:
Her father is Ruby Mazur, the artist and illustrator best know for
designing the Rolling Stones' mouth logo; she also has an interest
in music. "I just worked with Tricky," say Mazur, who
used to front a band called Nancy Raygun. "I would love to
take six months off and do an album."

Monet
on MTV and in Torque

Monet
Mazur has been spotted on MTV 2 News segment were she briefly provides
a tour of the set for the 2003 movie Torque.
Set in the fast-paced world of motorcycle racing, this action movie
shows what happens to long-time biker (and non-gang member) Cary
Ford (Henderson) when he is framed by a long-time rival, Henry (Schulze),
the leader of a biker gang called the Hellions for the murder of
Sleepy D, the brother of Trey Wallace (Cube), the leader of the
Machine, the most notorious and feared biker gang in the country.
Monet plays the character of Shane
(rumored to be the female, "love interest" of the film)
and should receive a fair amount of screen time in this role. Give
Ice Cube's recent success in movies and the excitement that movies
like Fast and Furious have generated, this film has a chance to
do very well.
