I am a 42 year old disfellowshipped Jehovah’s Witness. I was born and raised in this religion and when I was cast out over 15 years ago my life was forever changed and I intend to present a real life self filmed documentary of how this has impacted my life and the lives of many of my friends, one of whom has a mother who is dying of cancer and is having to deal with being the child of an active Jehovah’s W itness who is dying and how you feel and how you are treated. It is both shocking and informative and I feel if we help just one ex Jehovah’s Witness child who is suffering as we are, thought of or has attempted suicide, I know some who sadly succeeded and it is DEVASTATING, to know they are not alone there are many are us out there but we have remained silent, I and many of my friends chose to expose our personal experinces in hopes of healing both ourselves and others now choose to be their voice! This project is EXTREMELY important to me and I feel it is a story that NEEDS to be told and I plan to do this! I beg of anyone reading this to please lead me in the right direction as to how to “shop around” my documentary and any ideas as to how to proceed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I live in Winston-Salem NC. The title of my documentary is simply, “Disfellowshipped!”
Sincerely,
Vanita Lockhart
